Climate Action week ran from 12th to 18th October this year. To raise awareness about Climate change all first years watched an episode of “What Planet Are You On?” on the RTE Player during their SPHE classes. They discussed the issues with their teachers and then later in the week during Science class they took part in a Climate Action quiz using Kahoot. Thank you to our Green Schools Committee for compiling the quiz questions and congratulations to Matthew Bunce in 1C who came first in the quiz.
Our TY Global Citizenship Education students also ran a competition during Climate Action Week. First year students were asked to design a funny face to decorate one of four new bins for the school. The four bins will be for Plastics, Compost, Glass and Cans and General Waste. Congratulations to the winners – James O’Mahony 1A, Rory Kelleher 1A, Brian Nguema Nzang 1C and Conor Glynn 1C. The new bins will be completed by the TY GCE students and will be ready for use in the next couple of weeks.
