We would like to congratulate our TY Global Citizenship class and their teachers Mrs Regina Glynn and Ms Ann-Marie Walsh on receiving the Sustainable Development Goals Award at the Eco-UNESCO Young Environmentalist awards! Their project entitled “Wake Up to Academy’s Waste” proved to be a hit with the judges. This special achievement award was created for groups that went above and beyond what was expected of them. The award recognised that our students truly understand the value and importance of promoting the United Nations sustainable development goals. Special guests Michael D. Higgins, President of Ireland and Mary Robinson, Former President of Ireland celebrated the YEA Ceremony which was streamed online. A special mention to Kieran Duggan, Harry Bull, Patrick O’Grady, Robbie O’Brien, Aristjon Mirashi and Darragh Nolan who worked hard on the project all year and did a fantastic job representing the Patrician Academy throughout the competition.
