We are delighted to have been chosen as one of 40 schools (primary & post primary) to run the BelongTo programme. The BelongTo Programme provides advice and support to members of the LGBTQ+ community. As educators we have a desire to learn more about our society in order to best place ourselves to support ALL of our student body. Patrician Academy strives to provide an environment where all students can thrive, feel equal and safe.

Patrician Academy has formed a BelongTo committee, headed by Ms Edel O’ Donoghue (edelodonoghue@patricianacademy.com) and over the course of the next 18 months we will be working with staff, students and parents to try and review our support services.

 

The LGBTQ+ Support Team can be contacted by students, parents and staff if they would like to access up-to-date LGBTQ+ related information, support and guidance. In this regard we also work under the Department of Education Guidelines: Being LGBT in School
