Well done to the winners of the Funky Sock Competition, which took place on Friday to raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Day. Our U15s beat Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál from Blarney in a Munster semi-final with a score line of 7-11 to 3-9. They now progress to the Munster hurling final next week. Hard luck to the U14 tennis team yesterday against Douglas Community school in the Munster tennis Cup. It was a day of tie breaks. At a final score of 2-2 the Academy lost out in the super double set. Great display of tennis by all. Very proud.
Our TY students took part in a table quiz this afternoon in St.Mary’s secondary school. It was a very close contest with table 11 coming out on top with 40 points after 6 rounds. Thanks a million to St.Marys & GAA Future Leaders for organising the event.
Last night our school hosted our Academic Awards Ceremony in Springfort Hall to acknowledge the academic achievement of our past pupils who have graduated in recent years and also some current pupils. Our 1st years enjoyed a fantastic few days in Delphi Adventure centre this week. They took part in kayaking, ziplining, high ropes & tag orienteering over the past 3 days. They finished out each night with a forest walk and a campfire. The students were excellent and represented themselves and our school impeccably!

Cairdeas students having fun this week with the Intellino robotic trains. Intellino Smart Trains are interactive, programmable trains designed to engage students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning. The students really enjoyed building, coding and problem-solving.
