A great week for soccer in the Academy was rounded off with a 3-0 win in the Cork A semi final v Rochestown today in the Academy pitch. Goals from Denzel Obenge and 2 from Jamie McAuliffe.

It’s great to see work has finally started on the Academy new build. Hopefully huge progress will happen over the summer.

Huge congratulations to the 1st year soccer team who today made history and won the first Munster soccer title in v Hazelwood College Limerick in Buttevant. A thrilling 5-3 win after extra time and penalties. Full time score 2-2 with Nathanael Mthembu and Mikie ORiordan the scorers. We will celebrate this one. Well done boys.

Congratulations today to our 6th year cohort on their graduation. A fine bunch of young men about to embark on life’s journey.

Well done to all our 1st Years who took part in the Public Speaking Competition. Fantastic effort by everyone. Well done to the winner Harry Vu Ryan and runners-up Darragh Lehane, Cian Condon and Nicholas Ibeyo.

Best of luck to our first year soccer team tomorrow (wed 25th) in the Munster A final v Hazelwood college Limerick. The match will be played in Buttevant with a 12pm KO. All support appreciated.

Well done to Ben Horgan who has been selected in the Irish under 17 Basketball squad for a 3 game series in Scotland at the end of the month. Best of luck from everyone in the Academy!

Huge congratulations to the TY group yesterday after their amazing All Ireland win of the Young Environmental Awards. They won the overall prize and also the biodiversity section. The name of the project was Bee Brilliant Boost Biodiversity. Congratulations to the students and their teachers. We are so proud of them.
